Analysis Identifies Implicit Bias

The July 30th, 2018 edition of the Boston Globe featured an article regarding an insightful analysis conducted for the Massachusetts Trial Court system by Market Decisions Research. Judge performance is routinely rated by lawyers and court employees in surveys.  Our analysis demonstrated that ratings of women and minority judges are subject to implicit bias, they are systematically rated lower than white male judges, particularly when rated by white lawyers. The results speak for themselves.
