Expanding the use of healthcare technology is a priority of the Federal Government, and our research has been used to guide state efforts. In Vermont, Michigan, and Massachusetts, we have surveyed providers and consumers about awareness and use of patient portals, electronic health records, and use of the e-Health Highway for prescriptions, lab results, and patient information. Our work for the Massachusetts eHealth Institute (MeHI) was used to formulate statewide plans to increase adoption and meaningful use. We also developed a dashboard for adoption and use it to measure progress and to help MeHI target technical assistance. Learn more about the importance of this work here.
