What is the purpose of this survey?
This survey is a required component of an evaluation of state agency information technology (IT) resources provided through the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) to certain state agencies and other entities in Colorado. The evaluation is mandated by House Bill 17-1361, “Concerning an Independent Evaluation of the State’s Information Technology.”
The purpose of the survey is to assess consumer satisfaction, through a survey among Colorado state agencies, with the management of state agency information technology resources; and access to state government via information technology resources. With this survey we hope to:
- Better understand your use of information technology resources and services provided or supported by OIT
- Determine how satisfied you are with these services
- Determine if OIT staff is meeting your needs
- Determine if OIT effectively communicates with you
- Identify changes that would improve the services provided by OIT
- Determine how well the state is doing to provide Colorado citizens access to the state government through information technology resources
Who is conducting this survey?
House Bill 17-1361 required the Office of the State Auditor (OSA) to retain a qualified, independent, third-party consulting firm to evaluate state agency information technology resources. The OSA conducted a competitive procurement process and hired BerryDunn and its partner Market Decisions Research, to conduct the evaluation.
Why was I chosen to participate in the survey?
You have been chosen to take this survey because you work for an organization whose IT resources and support are provided by OIT. This may include your email and phone. You may have also received help from OIT, which may have been through OIT’s customer support service desk or in person. OIT staff may have set up your computer, solved computer problems, or installed software you needed.
The Governor’s Office of Information Technology provides a range of information technology solutions and services to Colorado state agencies and others throughout Colorado, including mainframe, infrastructure, business and enterprise software, project management, and security.
Your responses will help improve the experience of those using services provided by OIT.
If you are curious, please visit the OIT website at http://www.oit.state.co.us/home.
When will the survey begin?
Invitations to participate in the survey will be sent out on Monday, February 5, 2018. The last day to participate is February 19, 2018. During this period, we will send several reminders to those individuals who have not yet responded.
How do I participate in the survey?
You should have received an email with the title “State Agency IT Resource User Consumer Experience Survey.” Contained in this email is a link that will take you directly to the survey.
How long will the survey take to complete?
The survey includes questions on a number of topics but it should require no more than 10 to 20 minutes of your time to complete.
I already responded to a survey about OIT services; should I still participate in this survey?
Yes. The purposes of the two surveys are different. This consumer experience survey was developed to provide information to meet the specific request of the Colorado Legislature.
Are my responses anonymous?
Yes, your survey results are never associated with your name or other identifying information.
