Sometimes the four-legged, furry creatures at MDR are the hardest working among us. This month we honor the cutest dog ever: Yrsa Walsh. She is a very good girl. Here’s what her mom has to say.
Yrsa, the little she‑bear, is either love personified or a Norwegian Elkhound who wandered out of a fairy tale and decided to stay. She met eyes with her human brother at the ARL (a Portland-area animal rescue), and that was it—she chose us, and we never stood a chance.
She adores her people with her whole heart. If we’re home, she’s with us. If we’re hiking, she’s leading the charge—unless it’s a hot day. Then she lies down mid‑trail like a Victorian woman fainting on a chaise lounge and refuses to move until properly cooled, fed, and emotionally supported.
When she’s not conquering trails or maintaining her secret best friendship with her cat sibling, Simon, Yrsa is one of the laziest MDR employees on record, attending meetings by sleeping just out of camera range, contributing nothing.
She’s a 50‑pound lap dog who believes affection is a full‑contact sport, and is unquestionably the hairiest creature ever to grace a couch.
